22033  Write a short email to a friend telling him or her about your second year at college (120-150 words).

Dear Lucia:

Thanks for your interest. I’m really fine, thanks. I’m pleased to tell you that I’m studying the second year at college, a teacher’s Degree. I’m learning a lot of interesting things about children, psychology, foreign languages, theatre, music… it is really amazing.

However, we have a lot of homework. I’m working really hard! Becoming a teacher is really difficult! I’m also learning ICT. I have an education blog. It’s really nice, and every day I learn more about it. I think it is really important in our lives. I wish I had learned about ICT before. It’s exciting!

I’m sorry to say you that I won’t be able to visit you next week, because I must study for my English exam. I need to know when you are coming back to Ibiza. I miss you!

Looking forward to seeing next autumn.

Best wishes,

Sonia

22033 ICT is the future of education. Discuss

Nowadays ICT are very present I our lives. Although we find different opinions about it. These are some arguments for and against.

First, ICT are dangerous for our eyes. If we spend a lot of hours in front of our laptop, we can damage our eyes. Nowadays, a lot of people need glasses because they don’t see properly. Secondly, if young children start to write with a computer, they won’t learn to write properly. Maybe, because they don’t practice their hand writing.

However, ICT are necessary in the 21st century. We live in the information society. If we use ICT, we can find all the information that we need. Moreover, we take care of the environment, because we print less books. Next, we can talk about education with from all the world, share our works and learn together.

In my opinion ICT is the future of education. I’m sure that technological skills will be important for every job. Moreover, I think that ICT will help pupils to learn to play and have fun. We have to open our minds and make the change.

22035 Traditional methodologies are still better than modern methodologies.
There are a lot of opinions about the best methodology to teach children… Nowadays teachers around the world use both of them. But, which is the best?
One the one hand, with modern technologies children learn playing and having fun. They could use ICT, work in pairs an use a lot of different resources. Secondly, pupils do meaningful learning. The reason of this meaningful learning is that new methodologies encourage and motivate pupils.
On the other hand, if teachers use modern technologies, they have to work harder. It is easier to use a traditional book, because it isn’t necessary to find resources and create exercises. Moreover, all pupils will learn the same. If children want to pass exams, they have to do learning, using memorization.
In my opinion, teachers always have to use modern methodologies. We are in the 21st century, in the information society. We must make a change. I believe children have to learn with modern technologies, not like children learned in the 19th century. To conclude, modern methodologies respect different learning rhythms.
Do you think ICT are the future of education?
