Why did you decide to become a teacher?

I decided to become a teacher two years ago, at the last school year. It was a difficult decision for me, because I knew that it was a decisive and an important decision in my life. At this moment, I felt really purposeless, because I wasn’t sure about the degree that I wanted to study. I thought about it for some weeks. But then I chose to study a teacher’s degree. There are some reasons that helped me to decide be a teacher instead of a psychologist.

The first reason is that I love children; I really like their innocence, intelligence, liveliness, happiness, energy and curiosity. Secondly, compulsory education must offer the same opportunities for everybody. In my opinion, teachers must take care of diversity at classrooms. Consequently, teachers have to respect to different learning rhythms. In other words, I believe that professionals of education should offer to all the pupils the opportunity to learn and improve their skills.

Next, I think when children stay at compulsory school, they should realize meaningful and consistently learning, not quickly and memorizing without comprehension, like traditional form. This way is useless because some days later to learn, children will forget lot of words that they memorized.

To conclude, I would like to explain, when I decided to become a teacher, I took one of the best decisions of my life.
